Those involved in the research were asked to choose how to distribute a certain number of meals among several children during a computer simulation. At the same time researchers recorded brain activity when they took the final decision: "The subjects were all opposed to injustice, even at the expense of efficiency," said Ming Hsu, co-author of the study.
