I've tried every way to do this - either can't get the right frequency or right mixture of cornstarch/water - any advice? Is there a special speaker/music to use??? help - really want to do this for a science class

The anticlimax was the way to go, I assure you. It worked because it was so jarring. I've read fic where the anticlimax doesn't work because nothing much happened before it. In your fic, so many elements seemed to be building (the weather, the case, Harry and Perry's feelings) so it was unexpected when nothing really came to a head. Like the whole story was a near miss. But that's the way it would be, and that's the way it should be.

When I say the mystery plot seemed well thought out, I don't mean in a complex way, just in a completed way. For example, I'm working on a fic now. I can't seem to finish it, because I've shoe-horned the case in so poorly, that it feels like everything comes to a stop with Harry and Perry talk about it. I'm trying to fix it. Your fic, though, doesn't feel like that. When they discuss the case, I totally get how they feel about everything going on. (BTW, when and if I ever post my fic, I didn't steal the thing about Harry hating stakeouts from you. It just happened that way.)

As for the wet dream thing, when I REALLY like a fic, I find at least one thing about it to nitpick - just any little thing that struck me while I was reading it. It means I take your work seriously. If that's the worst I could dig up in your fic, that's a complement, just trust me on that.
