Supercooled water experiment

This is water supercooled at -21 degrees Celsius (-6F). As you can see it is still in liquid form. You can check out why on the supercooling wiki page. The amazing thing happens when you pour the water. Really cool! Enjoy!

wat u dont see is the chemicals in the bottom of the cup which is the same stuff that is used in baby diapers.. its not freezing.. the chemical is actually absorbing the water

warum ist dieser Satz nur so merkwürdig?? "Wie du sehen kannst, ist es noch in flüssigem sich bildet". Sieht aus wie eine google übersetzung eines ganzen Satzes =)

roll eyes

:wall: what "u" (give me a break, you're not texting. Use your big-boy words) don't see is science, apparently. There is no chemical in the cup, nor is the bottle actually filled with gel (which I've read others declare is the case on other comments of this video). It shocks me to see that ignorant people are so quick to insist that this is a trick, or gag, rather than read up on the actual science behind supercooling. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the embarrassment of looking like a loud-mouthed idiot; read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercooling before posting comments on this video. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

no chemicals this is super cooling (and since people dont now what that means its just water very near its freezing point and being disturbed letting of carbon dioxide getting it to its freezing point) this is real

"wat u dont see is the chemicals in the bottom of the cup which is the same stuff that is used in baby diapers.. its not freezing.. the chemical is actually absorbing the water" Actually your very wrong noob..lol theres a scientific explanation lol there are no chemicals involved just water.....im doing my science fair project on it

ive seen this before, someone did it with a Corona beer. they put it in the freezer for 3 hours and took the beer out, the beer was still a liquid but when they hit the bottle on the counter, as the CO2 escaped, the beer froze within a second. the CO2 bubbles were trapped in the middle of the beer! it was pretty cool (aside from the fact that we couldnt drink it)!!! :wall:

Hey, just pointing out this is real. Im doing this project for my physics class. ( even though it mostly chemistry.) It works. basically, like pointed out, you -slowly- cool water until its under 32 deg f, but over -42 ( not too cold where it starts crystal homogeneous nucleation.) then all you have to do is start a chain reaction to freese it by touching the water with already crystalized water ( aka ice)
