Here's a video test of what happens when you remove the CPU fan and cooler from different models of CPU's from both AMD and Intel. I actually know a guy who did this "experiment" on an AMD Athlon and ended up in smoke. The test in this video is made while running Quake 3 on CPU's that are in most PCs nowadays! So remember: never ever remove the CPU fan and cooler!
