Actually I think I was in Frankfurt at the time this video was filmed, however I slept like a baby that night So...I think it was more of a light show than a proper thunderstorm that would rip the roofs off the houses. Anyway, this video makes it look very violent. Enjoy!

From what I hear in Germany,shops have to be closed all night and on Sundays, so for emergencies, they've got these contraptions and they're very expensive !

Trabant was a popular East German car, during the Cold War period. It was spread in all communist countries in Europe. Today cars are built by robots, and have aluminum/composite bodies. The Trabant was made out of pressed cardboard (not joking) and was literally hammered into submission. They just don't build them today like they used to Enjoy!

The german newspaper "Der Spiegel" recently published some stunning photos taken under a microscope, which show in detail what happens when a bug hits the car's windshield.

The transfer of data will be hundred of times faster than that by radio waves. The promise is made by the first tests conducted by a German institute. Receiving images in Google Earth or photos of the Hubble telescope in real time may soon be reality. A German institute has experienced a communication system based on lasers which will transfer data at a rate one hundred times higher than that possible with radio waves. The technology was developed by researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology in Aachen on the company's Tesat GmbH & Co. under a project funded by the German Aerospace Center (Dlr).

The nervous system takes a decision ten seconds before the individual is conscious of it: a German study calls into question the concept of free will! The human brain takes a decision almost ten seconds before the person is aware: the claim comes from researchers of Max Planck Institute for Cognitive Sciences in Leipzig, Germany, led by neuroscientist John-Dylan Haynes. With this claim, the German scientist are taking into question the principle of "free will" during the decision-making process. The researchers asked 14 volunteers to undergo brain imaging during the course of a task: the experiment was to take a decision: in this case pressing between two buttons, with the right hand or with the left at the choice of the subject. At the same time, on a screen it was shown a stream of letters, at a rate of one every half second, and volunteers had to report the letter on the screen at the time of their decision.
