This little bugger, can hover using multiple jets. The idea is, that eventually it may be able to fight off incoming missiles by using kinetic energy alone. Probably, they'll run in front of the missile or something. They are cool!

The Japanese have an odd way of thinking. Here's another fine example of this kind: a cool futuristic door, that opens in pieces. Although it's spectacular, and maybe energy efficient to some point, I fail to see the real world usefulness for it, especially since it also has a few bugs. Anyway, it's pretty cool! Enjoy!

Well, in theory, massive amounts. Finding a way to store it, is still the biggest problem. But to properly visualize what a tiny amount of the energy that the Sun gives to Earth can do, here's a demonstration of a solar furnace melting a piece of steel in seconds. Now that's impressive!

From my knowledge of wind turbines, they have some kind of limiter, forbidding them to go on either when winds aren't strong enough to efficiently generate energy or when winds are too high, and represent a danger for the turbine. So in this case something might have been broken, because it didn't put on the brakes. Anyway...very spectacular!

A gauss gun, works by sequentially accelerating a projectile to a desired speed by using either magnets or coils. The first video is a small demonstration of the principle behind the whole thing, by using magnets. The following videos are weapons which were homemade, and as you can see work remarkably well. So well in fact, that the US Navy will implement such weapons on its ships by 2020, after they succesfully tested an 8 Megajoule prototype.

I've got to tell you, that I didn't believe in this myth. The energy from the mobile phone is so little that, you aren't able to get a spark. Things change if the energy is "stored" in the crumpled aluminum foil, and making lots of calls. The only realistic scenario I can come up with is that your car or some other piece of metal is already statically charged and your phone is the water drop that fills the glass. Anyway, it's very unlikely!

Twenty years after the first partially successful attempt to cold fusion, a new experiment seems to have reopened the hopes of obtaining nuclear reactions at low energy (LENR low-energy nuclear reactions). This was announced by a team of researchers led by Pamela Mosier-Boss of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (California), with a study presented at the annual meeting of American Chemical Society, the first visible evidence of the production of neutrons, the particles subatomic whose presence demonstrates the atomic reaction occurred. It was 1989 when Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons showed that it has obtained experimentally the Cold Fusion, arousing great outcry in the scientific community. Fusion is the reaction that takes place inside of stars, their source of energy, able to reproduce in the laboratory at room temperature this process would be an amazing achievement. Further research then disappointed initial expectations: the rare attempts (for example, those of 2000 and 2002) to reproduce the results of 1989 and have not convinced the path of nuclear reaction at low energy has not proved viable as an alternative to "clean" nuclear fission, which is based on the common operation of nuclear power.

A study conducted by an Italian and published on Pnas shows that healthy cells, if required to "diet", have an increased resistance to stress caused by the drugs compared with those ill. A team led by biologist Italian Valter Longo, which involved the United States laboratories and the hospital Gaslini of Genoa, has discovered a kind of magic screen that healthy cells (as a result of caloric restriction) have as a defense against chemotherapy. How can you convert waste into energy in the most efficient way possible? The secret is in riboflavin. The microorganisms have the ability to change the chemistry of the environment. This is known for a long time, but if some of these can generate energy from the degradation of organic compounds has not yet been clarified.
