Fero-magnetic fluid is the stuff that Ferrari makes its car suspensions from. It's a fluid containing iron particles. When an electromagnetic force is applied to it, it tends to shape itself to the wave lines of the electromagnetic field. You can try something similar at home with some iron shavings on a plate, and a magnet underneath the plate. It's used in car suspensions because it can modify the stiffness of the ride almost instantly. Her's another use for fero-magnetic fluid, this time with beauty in mind, and less practical. Enjoy it!

One of the newest and most advanced robot fish was presented in a London aquarium. The robot fish seems to be able not only to keep it's equilibrium in the water, but also to detect it's surroundings (aka doesn't bump into the glass wall of the aquarium ). That's pretty neat, so congrats to the guys from Essex.

Here's a neat little trick with which you can show off at parties with: drinking Cola through your nose. You can use a straw if you need to. Look at this guy perform this amazing trick!

Researchers have made a fabric, made from polyester fibres which is coated with millions of small silicone filaments. This the most water-resistant clothing which was ever created by man. Because of the nanometre-scaled filaments, a coating which stops water particules from going through the coating to the polyester fibres which are underneath. This mixture between a hydrophobic surface and a nanostructure coating leads to a super-hydrophobic effect. This is similar to the surface of Lotus leaves. There are many applications for this: from stain resistant clothing (see video) to reducing water drag in submarines or swimmers. This could lead in a drag decrease of up to 20%.
