This little robot is being developed for the US military in order to do light and dangerous reconnaissance missions. What's impressive about it, is the fact that it can jump over fences. You have to see it to believe it! Enjoy!
This robotic hand, can catch balls, juggle with straws and even bounce balls, way faster than you and I can. It's staggering, and may open up a whole new range of applications. Very cool! Enjoy!
As the video says, the only purpose in life for this little yellow robbot is to groove. So..groove on, dude!
A cool, yet ingeniously simple little robot, made out of LEGO, which is able to play tic-tac-toe. It scans every place on the board, and puts a piece where it thinks it's best. Brilliant!
This cool robot comes (as expected) from Japan. It's able to transform quickly in several interesting postures. It was presented in 2006 at the Robo-One robotics competition in Tokyo. Really cool! Enjoy!
I was stunned to see how lifelike they are. Apparently these are real, and you can potentially buy them in the US also for around 60$. The jellyfish also changes color according to its "mood". The company that imports them is called RoboToys, although they seem to be out of stock for the moment.
The coolest robots presented in this video are by far the snakes. Being able to swim in water, rotate on ground, and even raise their front half of the body, they definitely have a bright future ahead. Very cool!
This is the 1st automated parking garage installed in New York. Fully automated, it functions similar to an elevator, by placing your car underground in a free parking spot. It's really cool considering that it saves not only your time, but also lots of space, and money because it doesn't have driveways!
Wow. Now this is an idea that could pick-up: a mini fridge with a catapult on top and an automatic beer launcher. The cool part is that it's very small and incredibly accurate. Seriously, it's a gadget that I would buy!
Tech
Another robot demonstration, but with added music this time, making this video one of the coolest robot demonstrations I've seen since the beer launching fridge, even though that doesn't actually qualify as a proper robot.
You can probably remember a Japanese project that we featured similar to this one. If not, here is the link. Anyway this one is more advanced, and probably still largely classified in the way it functions. But yes, it opens the way to some of the greatest Sci-Fi robots you've seen on TV and dreamed about. It's now possible even to make the famous exoskeleton loader we've seen in "Alien".
I'm all against animal cruelty and such, but sometimes, these experiments can bring forward something that would benefit millions of people. I think that one such case is this. This monkey has a microchip implanted in its brain, and linked up to a robotic arm. The amazing thing is that the monkey can control the arm like an extension of its body, with incredible precision, and without any visible effort!
I've got to say, that those little guys pack in some moves. They probably aren't autonomous, but the moves they pull, and the fact that they get up extremely easy, compensates for it. Really cool, and impressive moves!
A new innovative design, brought this robot snake to life. It's very interesting to see it move so smoothly, and I'm sure there are applications that could benefit from this technology!
A really cool technology innovation from Japan. A robotic exoskeleton, that senses the neural stimuli transmitted from the brain to the muscles and acts accordingly. The result? A robotic enhancement, that allows you to lift up to 10 times the normal weight. It can be really useful on construction sites!
One of the newest and most advanced robot fish was presented in a London aquarium. The robot fish seems to be able not only to keep it's equilibrium in the water, but also to detect it's surroundings (aka doesn't bump into the glass wall of the aquarium
Amazing
A fantasitic little robot, bringing the best of what robotics has to offer for the moment in one whole package. It's simply amazing! Enjoy!
This has to be the coolest robot I've seen this year (even cooler than Plen). It seems to work by using some suction system in its legs, and always holding 4 legs on the wall. So enjoy this cool video of the amazing climbing robot.
