Since Windows took 10 years in becoming the software that everyone wanted it to be, here's another version that promises to deliver even more, and wants to fill the gap which is currently filled by a number of software products (HyperSnap, Total Commander,..). Let's hope it gets better...if not...Ubuntu!
This very cool video, covers the evolution form fish to dinosaurs mainly. It also has a short segment for the evolution of humanoids. Unfortunately it doesn't cover birds and mammals, but even so it spans over 282 million years. It reminds me of the upcoming game, Spore, which I'm eagerly awaiting and I've already pre-orderd it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-Spore/dp/B000FKBCX4. It's going to be launched on the 1st of May 2008, but I'm not taking any chances, because it's going to be a hit!
Gaming Videos
The engine for the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 is among the best I've seen in terms of both graphics and damage. Just have a look and enjoy!
The latest game from the popular franchise Grand Theft Auto is about to hit the streets. With GTA IV we can expect impressive graphics, immersive gameplay, and a new lead character. Let's hope that this sequel will live up to its name!
Amazing
Well, if all the maneuvers done in an air show look simple to perform on a computer airplane simulator, there's another factor that you forgot: the extreme g-forces acting on the pilots body. Here's a video with a French pilot training on a Mirage 2000 fighter for an upcoming show. Besides the cool maneuvers you can actually feel the pain in his breething!
Movie Trailer
To the Sci-Fi geeks out there, here is an awesome upcoming movie: Jumper. The release date for Jumper has been set to 14 February 2008 for the US. It also features one of my favorite all time actors: Samuel L. Jackson. Until then, enjoy this cool trailer!
Technology and Health News
Muliple mutations of a single gene lead to the accumulation of a protein in motor neurons that causes death.
Mutations in a single gene could be the basis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Sla), the neurodegenerative disease that leads to progressive paralysis and that affects every year in Italy 1,500 people, mainly men of average or advanced age. The discovery, the result of years of studies conducted by international team in which the names of Emanuele Buratti Baralle Francisco and the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (Icgeb) in Trieste, and guided by Christopher Shaw of King College London, appeared in Science.
